When I Was 64

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
It was 8.30pm when I called Dad today. When I spoke to him over the phone, he was talking about some Beatles song, he even sang a line of it, but forgot and is now looking for the lyrics. I've never heard of it..but of course, what do you expect??? BEATLES what?? Same as that what Humperdink-thing fella? Same generation, left with the sixties?

Anyways, I looked through the web, and I think this was what Dad was looking for!

WHEN I AM SIXTY FOUR
When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

You'll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.

I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride,
Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera Chuck & Dave.

Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

Yes, we'll still need you dad:
to mow the lawn
and weed the weed
arm the alarm
and also to spoil our grandkids.

Yes, we'll feed you dad
but will you smile a little
-better still- hum the Beatles'
'When I'm 64' while doing the dishes?

Dad you are more like 46 to me
Then I can say I'm 35!!!

kakcik: you're in denial! but yes, kalau young at heart, betul lah kot!

And if Dad is 46, you 35, then I am..11!!! YAHOOOOO!!!

Waaahhh..since when my mother jadi penulis lyrics?? or didya get some help from the ol Beatles fan himself???

atenah: I can't imagine that, but your mom did one helluva great job with you! and yes, I am lucky to have a dad like him..
